Difficult start to the holidays for this weekend of July 5, 6 and 7. Bison futé places France on red and orange alert, starting this Friday, July 5, and gives advice on how to arrive safely without major difficulties.

The end of the school year means the start of the holidays, and it won’t be easy on French motorways. Starting Friday, July 5, many slowdowns are expected throughout France.

Friday July 5th

From the end of the morning, slowdowns will be observed in Ile-de-France, in the direction of departures, particularly on the ring road, the A86, the A6B, the A6 and the A10, which crosses Orléans.

Traffic will also be heavy in the North-East (A2), Normandy (A13), Brittany and the Loire region (A11) and the South (A7, A50, A63 and A89)

Saturday July 6th

Bison Fûté predicts extremely heavy traffic throughout France this Saturday, with slowdowns starting very early in the morning on the A10 and early in the morning on the A86. In Normandy, traffic will be difficult on the A13, from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.

The Loire region (A11), Brittany (N165), Hauts de France (A2 and A25), the southern regions (A7, A9, A43) and the A3 will also be affected by disruptions all day long.

Sunday July 7th

On Sunday, traffic will be better than the day before, but slowdowns will begin in the Ile-de-France region, from the end of the morning on the A6, the A10 and the A13. Difficulties will arrive in the middle of the day in the southern regions on the A63 and the A75 and the A7, until the end of the day.

– Avoid the A10 motorway, near Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines, from noon to 9 p.m.
– Avoid the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
– Avoid the A6 motorway, near Fleury, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.,
– Avoid the A89 motorway, between Lyon and Bordeaux, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
– Avoid the A13 motorway, between Paris and Rouen, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
– Avoid the A63 motorway, between Bordeaux and Spain, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
– Avoid the Mont Blanc tunnel (N205), between France and Italy, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

– Leave or cross the Île-de-France before 6 a.m.
– Avoid the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and between Orange and Marseille from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Avoid the A10 motorway between Paris and Orléans from 8am to noon; between Orléans and Poitiers from 9am to 2pm; and between Poitiers and Bordeaux from 1pm to 5pm.
– Avoid the A11 motorway, between Angers and Nantes, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
– Avoid the A9 motorway between Orange and Montpellier from 10am to 4pm, between Montpellier and Narbonne from 11am to 3pm, and between Narbonne and Spain from 4pm to 6pm.
– Avoid the A43 motorway, between Lyon and Chambéry, from noon to 2 p.m.
– Avoid the A75 motorway, between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., avoid the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205), between France and Italy, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday July 7th
