With his new Bassens team (Gironde), the Agen shooter won the title of French first division club champion. A consecration for Joé Ziegler, who has not forgotten his favorite club, AL Agen.
From Friday November 22 to Sunday November 24, the federal bowling alley of Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot hosted the French elite club teams. Under the colors of the Gironde team of Bassens, Joé Ziegler, who was still playing last year for the Agen Secular Association, won the title of French first division champion.
Joé Ziegler, an excellent shooter, will have missed this season at the Rouge et Blanc of co-presidents Pierre Barral and Willy Lehmann (also captain of the Agen pennant team). All his former club mates are nevertheless delighted with this deserved title which makes him happy: “I am indeed very happy with this title. Two years ago, I was crowned vice-champion of France in CNC 3 with the Secular Friendship Agen. I was on a podium at the world championship in 2013 in export triplets but I had never been French champion. My partners, accustomed to the coronation, absolutely wanted me to win and they played at a level. exceptional. garnered four victories without being really worried. I am extending to Bassens next year but if one day I return to Lot-et-Garonne it will, of course, be under the colors of the Agen secular association.”
The new president of the departmental pétanque committee, Jackie Prévot, was also delighted with this wonderful weekend: “It is a pride to welcome the best teams in France. We have witnessed some superb games sometimes very close. All the players congratulated us for the welcome, the quality of the facilities (bowling alley, heated) and… the table. I think that on this occasion, Lot-et-Garonne scored points.”
