Unusual discovery: a corn snake found in the basement of a Quebec pizzeria

An unusual discovery occurred in the port area of Old Quebec, when a corn snake was found in the basement of a pizzeria on Saint-Paul Street.

This find was announced on the Facebook page of the Terrarium, a store in Quebec specializing in reptiles and which also has the mission of being a refuge for this type of species.

For the moment, little information is known on the reasons why the beast, which was not at all in an environment conducive to its survival, found itself there. The management of the Terrarium is trying to find the owner of the beast in order to hand it over to him.

According to information obtained on the website of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Montreal, the corn snake is a species found mainly in the southeast of the United States.

“His calm nature makes him a pleasant animal and easy to keep in captivity,” we can also read.

It feeds mainly on mice, but can fast for several weeks. It lives in humid environments varying between 20 and 35 degrees.

It is considered harmless, but may attack if it feels threatened.
