He allegedly fired pellets at his neighbor’s door: a 36-year-old from Brest taken into police custody

Very early on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the Brest police were called by a 52-year-old man who heard two detonations just outside the door of his apartment, located on Rue de Maissin, in the Recouvrance district, around 5 a.m. On site, the police noticed lead bullet holes in the door and decided to arrest the alleged perpetrator of the shots: the victim’s neighbor, with whom a dispute had broken out the day before.

Forced to use a battering ram to break down the door of the apartment where this 36-year-old from Brest had taken refuge, the police could only note his state of intoxication: 0.74 g of alcohol per liter of blood, at 6:10 a.m. The rifle that was allegedly used for the shooting was also found, hidden behind the sofa. Placed in police custody, the thirty-year-old allegedly denied the death threats that his neighbor, who filed a complaint, accused him of having made and the shootings… but nevertheless admitted to the damage to the door. Brought before the public prosecutor this Wednesday, July 3, early in the afternoon, he was placed in provisional detention at the Brest remand center pending his judgment, in immediate appearance, this Friday, July 5.
