His body was found near the cliffs of Mont Saint-Eynard, north of Grenoble.
New research was launched
The gendarmes, accompanied by the CRS Alpes, launched new searches in the area the same day, following the discovery of hiking poles by a hunter, at the foot of a rocky ridge.
It was in “an inaccessible place, far from the paths that we had made and remade during the first searches” that the body was found, according to the gendarmerie.
The woman's disappearance was reported almost a month ago by her husband. However, the first investigations yielded nothing. For now, the hypothesis according to which the septuagenarian got lost during her hike is the most plausible.
