National Day: fireworks, picnic and ball on July 13, 2024 in Gif sur Yvette (91)

For the National Day of July 14, 2024, the city of Gif-sur-Yvette is organizing its traditional fireworks display, preceded by a republican picnic and a dance ball, on Saturday, July 13.

On the occasion of the National Holiday of July 14which celebrates the historical storming of the Bastille prison In 1789, the whole of France celebrated with many fireworks organized throughout the country, popular balls and beautiful animations.

Every summer, the date of July 14 is an unmissable event for all French people, who enjoy the traditional military parade on the Champs-Elysées, the fireworks organized in almost all the cities and towns of France, or even the open-air concerts and balls, as well as the family activitiesto explain the importance of this celebration to young people.

But before that, don’t miss the dance ball and the picnic republican, to set the mood with variety tunes all evening. The program for the National Day in Gif-sur-Yvette:

  • The Republican picnic to get together
    From 7:30 p.m. – In the Town Hall Park
    Bring your tablecloth, basket and (reusable) dishes to gather around a giant picnic.
    Fabric tablecloths will be loaned by the City, subject to available stock.
  • Food trucks for a treat
    From 7:30 p.m. – Along the Town Hall Park
    Khobztruck – Syrian street food and Mediterranean cuisine
    Home Sweet Bowls – Poké bowls and Asian specialties
    125TH STREET – Burgers et American food
    Sweet Treats – Churros, Homemade Crepes and Italian Ice Cream
    Pizza Par’Tif – Pizzas
    Giffois Friendship Club refreshment bar – Fries, sausages, drinks and ice creams.
  • Animations for singing & dancing
    8:30 p.m. – The Ecole Normale Supérieure band “L’Ernestophone”
    9:30 p.m. and after the fire – Dance with the Wanted Revival
  • Fireworks to amaze you
    The fireworks, on the theme of sports, will be launched at 11 p.m.
