But beyond the good-natured side of the event, by organizing this open day, the association also had another objective: to attract the curiosity of companies. And why not, conclude new agreements with professionals. We are subcontractors, particularly in the areas of destruction of official documents, or laundry… We have room for new partnerships“, explains with a smile Patricia Beck, general director of Eveil-ADAPEI of Haute-Corse.

Ideally, the association would also like to be able to integrate ESAT workers into island businesses. This is why, by opening the structure to the public, Patricia Deck intends to prove that “Disability rhymes with skills“. “Integrating people with disabilities into professional environments is positive for both parties. It allows employees with disabilities to progress, and companies to discover their skills.“, she assures. Moreover, some internships have already resulted in long-term hiring.

Finally, this event also allowed to highlight the employees, who have sometimes been loyal for several decades. This is why, before enjoying a buffet prepared by the ESAT cooks, employees, visitors and institutions gathered in front of the building to salute the commitment of the teams. We have awarded more than 40 medals to people who have been employed here for more than 20 years, and around 15 to those who have been with us for at least 30 years.“, explains Véronique Cuvillier-Lugarini, president of Eveil-ADAPEI of Haute-Corse for eight years, who sees the association as “a big family“.
Dominique, who now has two decades of service at the ESAT, collected his prize, to the applause of his colleagues, not without emotion… “I’m very proud” he said, brandishing the trophy with his name on it.
