Images of the Liberation of Manche towns, presentation of cameras, cameras and period equipment from American war reporters, broadcast of documentaries…. Wednesday, November 27, 2024 will offer the public a dive into Manchese history.

Dominique Bourget has been collecting testimonies and making films for almost thirty years. He will be present in the Salle de Hérel in Granville, to share the stories of numerous witnesses of the Second World War. Among the filmmakers in the spotlight: Jack Lieb. He filmed Granville in color at the end of July 1944. Landing on June 6 at Utah Beach, after participating in the Liberation of Cherbourg, he crossed the department from North to South and immortalized numerous scenes from local history.

Its films and documentaries will be screened from 11 a.m. until 10:15 p.m. “When we talk about images of the D-Day landings, the name of Robert Capa quickly comes up.
