Rescuers recovered four bodies and four survivors on Tuesday the day after a tourist boat sank off Egypt’s east coast, Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi said. The second Swiss on board who was missing is one of the survivors.
Among the survivors are two Belgians, a Swiss and an Egyptian, the governor told AFP, bringing the total number of survivors to 32.
In total, two Swiss were on board the ship. Mid-afternoon on Monday, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) told Keystone-ATS that one of these people had been saved and was unharmed and that the second was missing. This Swiss national has now been found.

Eight people still missing
The four deaths have not yet been identified and eight people are still missing. “Rescue operations continue today, with the support of a military helicopter and a frigate as well as several divers,” Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi said.
The boat was carrying 31 tourists of different nationalities as well as 13 crew members, when it was hit by a large wave early Monday which caused it to capsize near Marsa Alam in southeastern Egypt.
