13 years later, Aurillac becomes the starting city of the stage again Tour de France. So it’s a sporting day that’s coming up. this Thursday July 11, 2024 but also festive.

However, this great excitement will lead to changes in car traffic and entry into the city.

For information, the peloton will leave from Avenue Gambetta at 12:35 p.m., before joining Rue des Carmes, Avenue des Pupilles de la Nation, Avenue des Prades before heading towards Sansac-de-Marmiesse via the route of the old RN 122.

For residents of streets adjacent to the route, it is strongly recommended, especially if your street has no other possible exit, to park your vehicle in the car parks of the bus station and the Prisme. The free shuttle will be able to “drop you off at the Square” underlines the City of Aurillac.

Parking and traffic

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., along this entire route, the traffic and parking will be prohibited, except for police and emergency vehicles. During this period, in order to connect the east and west of the city, a diversion is being put in place.

A popular festival

It is a popular festival that is promised to spectators on this morning of July 11 with the first highlight being the individual presentation of each team on the large podium installed in the lower part of the Promenade du Gravier.

Reserved for economic and institutional partnership, the “departure village” will be installed in the upper part of the gravel. On the outer edges, animations will be accessible to the public.

For its part, the advertising caravan will start at 10:35. For the runners, it will be a standing start at 1:30 p.m. on Avenue Gambetta on a line located at the crossroads with Rue Paul Doumer. It is from this point that the runners will set off for a parade of several kilometers towards the real start located in the Esban zone.

Bicycle parking

On the occasion of the stage, AG2R La Mondiale and the Tour de France are encouraging people to come by bike to support the riders by offering a guarded parking lot.
