Budget 2025, visit of the Minister of Justice, recruitment of caregivers, Anne Costa, director of Poitiers University Hospital, was the guest of France Bleu Poitou this Tuesday.
Busy news from the Poitiers University Hospital, between the first stone of the extension of the cancer center, a visit from the Minister of Justice and preparation of the 2025 budget. To talk about all these subjects, the director of the Poitiers hospital center was the guest from France Bleu Poitou this Tuesday, November 26.
A complaint is already possible at the hospital
She returned to Didier Migaud's visit this Monday to his establishment. The Minister of Justice went to the Freyja housea structure which welcomes and supports women victims of violence. “The minister was very interested. It is at the same time a health, care and support reception. It is also a social reception with the possibility of being assisted by a social worker, have a place to stay, but also legal advice.”
The Poitiers hospital, via this house, already allows women victims of violence to file a complaint directly on the CHU website. “It is on the occasion of a memorandum of understanding between the court, the judicial police, the gendarmerie and the CHU. The complaint can be filed in different ways. Either it is a judicial police officer who comes to collect the complaint if the person cannot travel, or it is a simplified complaint. In this case, it is made within the establishment, and then the investigators come to question the person concerned.
52 million euros for the extension of the cancer center
Among the hospital's news, there is also the laying of the first stone for the extension of the cancer center. It's this Tuesday, November 26. An additional 10,000m² are under construction to accommodate more patients. “In terms of oncology, we have a lot of screenings. Above all, we have treatments that are getting longer. Today, we are quite advanced in terms of treatment. But with this second location, we are going to expand our resources so that we can continue our research.” This is an investment of 52 million euros for the CHU.
On the hospital budget, Anne Costa does not hide her concerns about the future. “For the first year, we could be in deficit. On the care of patients in the short term, it has no consequences. But we will think about how we can both finance our current needs and cope with these budgetary constraints.”
The director of the CHU also returned to the tensions in patient care with the end-of-year holiday period. “I am less worried than in past years. We have had our fill of nurses and our full complement of emergency doctors. This allows us to look forward to the Christmas holidays with more security, more calmly.”
