A retirement home of another type will open in Sainte-Sévère in December or, at the latest, in January. In this newly built “shared house” the elderly are tenants of a room of approximately 20 m2 already furnished (with the possibility of bringing furniture), equipped with a bathroom with walk-in shower and found in common areas: a large living room opening onto the terrace and the garden (with a future vegetable garden), a restaurant room, a kitchen.

The main advantages highlighted by its designer, CeFamille – which is organizing an open day on Friday November 29, 2024 – are the maintenance or reestablishment of social ties, as well as a support service provided by life assistants, present twenty -four hours a day, seven days a week.

Against loneliness and loss of autonomy

“Our core target is elderly people suffering from loneliness and having a loss of autonomy requiring help with everyday activities, wash, get dressed, prepare meals, cut food, go to bed…”underlines Guillaume Durel, of CetFamille for Centre-Val de . In the afternoon, gentle gymnastics and entertainment are offered.

Meals are cooked by the care assistants. But residents can participate if they wish.

There is no medical team on site. “Nurses and doctors travel according to each person’s needsspecifies the manager of the shared house. If necessary, the idea is to bring in a doctor by grouping together all the requests, for renewal of prescriptions for example. »

A team of five to ten professionals

The location in Rue Feusina is between “ten to fifteen minutes walk” from the town center, according to Guillaume Durel who provides, if necessary, a motorized service. “We integrate into village life. The shopping is done by the life assistants. In Vrigny, near Orléans, I approached a bakery for a daily delivery of bread and in Saint-Fiel, in the Creuse, we work with the butcher's shop. We will do the same thing in Sainte-Sévère. »

Continuous service requires the presence of a night watchman. All the staff comes from the Creuse association Aliad-Una. “The team working on the house is made up of five to ten people, depending on the number of roommates”explains Guillaume Durel.

In Sainte-Sévère, the 370 m² accommodation can accommodate eight (a little more if there are couples) and will open from three people. We stay there for a minimum period of one month and, if the place pleases, permanently. Applications are open.

Senior shared accommodation in Sainte-Sévère, 31, rue Feusina. Pets allowed. Doors open Thursday, November 29, from 9 a.m. Tel. 02.55.99.41.72; Email: [email protected]

How much does it cost to rent a room?

The total cost of property rental and all support services is €2,950 per month. “Taking out the aid, it’s around €2,000,” notes Guillaume Durel, the manager of the CetFamille shared house. People are entitled to the APA (Personalized Autonomy Allowance) and the tax credit. For APL (Personalized Housing Assistance), “it depends on the amount of the pension, if they do not obtain it it is because the pension is sufficient. »
