The Ottawa Senators announced today the signing of forward David Perron to a two-year, $8 million contract.

The team continues to add leadership to its roster with the acquisition of Perron, a 17-year veteran aged 36 who will play on the wing with Ottawa.

In his final season with the Red Wings, Perron played 76 regular season games, recording 17 goals and 30 assists for 47 points. In 1,131 career games, Perron has 310 goals and 458 assists for 768 points.

Requested on 26e Ranked by the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Perron played his NHL career with St. Louis, Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Anaheim, Vegas and Detroit. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native also gives the Senators playoff experience, having scored 24 goals and 37 assists for 61 points in 104 career games.

Perron has a winning track record for the Senators, having won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. During the 2019-20 season, Perron was selected to the Metropolitan Division team at the 2020 NHL All-Star Game.

This contract will keep Perron with the Senators until the end of the 2025-2026 season, providing the Senators with leadership and a nice touch of scoring on the wing.
