The 53rd Fort-de-France Cultural Festival, on the theme “Transcendence”, will be held from July 1 to 27, 2024. As every year, multidisciplinary events will be offered throughout the city. On the program: theater performances, concerts, artistic performances, culinary tastings…

It is the cultural event of the summer holidays. The Fort-de-France Festival 2024 is held from July 1 to 27. For this 53rd edition, the event founded by Aimé Césaire will offer a rich program with concerts, dance shows, themed evenings, entertainment, cenacles and exhibitions, in the city center and neighborhoods.

  • “Blacke & Angola”, Sunday July 7 and Monday July 8 at 9:00 a.m. at the Théâtre Aimé Césaire

This show, in homage to four black trumpeters who distinguished themselves in great European courts, offers a unique experience, where visual arts and orality combine with ancient music.

  • “Before the night”, the Nocturne du Parc, Tuesday July 9 from 6:30 p.m. in the Gardens of Parc Aimé Césaire

The free event will be focused on arts and gastronomy. The public will be able to enjoy the bar and the gastronomic experiences of chef Nathanael Ducteil, the live concert by Guadeloupean singer Matieu White or the theatrical reading with the company “La Rumeur”.

  • The park’s night event “Samori Chalons, Exile One, Gordon Henderson”, Wednesday July 10 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight in the Gardens of the Aimé Césaire Park

This evening combines music and culinary discovery. On the program: discovery of the musical universe of the child of the country Samori Chalons and concert of the group Gordon Henderson/Exile One from Dominica.

  • A lyrical concert, Thursday July 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Aimé Césaire Theater
  • The Murmuration show by Sadeck Berrabah on Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13 at 8:00 p.m. at the Atrium
  • The Habana Fenix ​​dance show by the Cuban company Lizt Alfonso on Tuesday July 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Carbet

This performance tells the history of Havana through the dancers, who become restorers of the Historic Center of the Old City, marked until today by the presence of Spain and Africa, bringing together several parallel worlds at different moments in national history and thus transmitting a message of resurgence, optimism and faith.

  • The Children’s Festival on Wednesday July 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gardens of the Aimé Césaire Park

On the program: children’s village with a multitude of activities all afternoon, a play, a light show and acrobatics under the large carbet and a giant luminous stroll in the park gardens.

  • India Night on Saturday July 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in the Gardens of Parc Aimé Césaire with shows, a fashion show and exhibitions

  • The SKAH SHAH concert Number 1 of Haiti on Sunday July 21 at 8 p.m. in the Gardens of the Aimé Césaire Park

  • The unmissable Jazz Night, to close the festival, on Saturday July 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jardins du Parc Aimé Césaire with Paquito D’Riviera Intro and the group The Yellow Jackets.

Due to the conditions weather conditions, the cenacle of this Monday, July 1st will be held at the Grand Carbet of the Parc Aimé Césaire. (The same should apply to the other debates planned outdoors on the pier, when the weather is not good).
