At nightfall, the parking lots become their playground. They parade with reworked cars, burn the rubber off the tires and do a series of “drifts”, dangerous turns, in front of an galvanized audience. A France Télévisions team infiltrated an illegal gathering. In the middle of the night on a country road, dozens of vehicles and spectators are gathered. A car spins around at high speed on the icy ground.

Despite the danger, some approach, like two minors without a license. “I've done a lot of it. I'm in my campaign, there are no police.” confides one of them. The large gathering that they had planned a few hours earlier in a parking lot in Orléans (Loiret) was canceled. 700 cars were expected for the mobilization, announced on social networks. However, they were spotted by the police, and the prefecture issued an order to ban it.

Throughout the city, no less than fifty police officers are looking for potential participants. Sometimes the gatherings degenerate, as in Lieusaint (Seine-et-Marne), where clashes took place between participants and the police. A year ago, two spectators were also cut down during a speed race.
