Thani Mohamed is passing through Mayotte before going to Kenya to sign an agreement which binds this African country and .

Thani Mohamed Soilihi's visit to Mayotte is a stop on his trip to the region. He will travel to Kenya to sign, this Monday, November 25, an agreement which binds the two countries. “I came within the framework of bilateral relations between France and Kenya”he indicated on our antennas. He will be accompanied by the president of the Mayotte Development and Innovation Agency. “My coming here is a concrete illustration that France encourages the development of overseas territories in their geographical environment”he clarified.

Mayotte within the IOC

The Secretary of State in charge of La Francophonie and International Partnerships also discussed the place of Mayotte within the Indian Ocean Commission (COI). In fact, the department does not have a seat there and the territory's elected officials have been fighting for years to change the situation. “It’s a fight that France is leading for the integration of Mayotte into its region. As soon as I took office, it’s a subject in which I have been involved… I work with my team”he said on Mayotte the 1st.
