A young armed man was neutralized by police officers in Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne) last night, after the latter pursued an individual by threatening him with death, we learned this Saturday from the public prosecutor's office in Creteil.

After chasing an individual and threatening him with death, a 22-year-old armed man was seriously injured by police officers in Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne) on the night of Friday November 22 to Saturday November 23 , indicated the Créteil public prosecutor's office to CNEWS.
The events took place last night, when a man took refuge at the Saint-Mandé municipal police station, explaining that he was being followed from the metro exit (Saint-Mandé on line 1) by an individual. The latter allegedly threatened to kill him on several occasions.
Armed with a knife and an automatic pistol
At the sight of the police, the suspect fled, again according to the prosecution, before stopping and facing the police, while holding a handgun in his hands.
Faced with the situation, the agents were quickly joined by national police personnel from the Vincennes police station. One then used a taser against the armed individual, to no effect. Three police officers from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) then used their weapon, taken at gunpoint by the suspect.
Aged 22, the suspect was transported to the emergency room with a life-threatening condition. He carried with him, in addition to his 9 mm caliber automatic pistol, a knife. “The first exploitation of the video surveillance confirmed the unfolding of the facts, and in particular the use, by the three police officers, of their administrative weapon while they were pointed by the weapon of the accused,” specified the Créteil prosecutor's office .
A blatant investigation was entrusted to the Val de Marne departmental judicial police service on charges of repeated death threats, carrying category B and D weapons, attempted homicide on a person holding public authority. At the same time, the IGPN was seized of a judicial investigation into the conditions of use of their weapons with regard to the principles of self-defense.
