Lights and fridges were able to work again in most homes without electricity in -Atlantique and Vendée after the Caétano storm. These are the only two departments in still affected by electrical outages. The wind blew hard on Thursday and many poles fell on electrical wires. 5,500 homes in Loire-Atlantique, 2,000 in Vendée and 18,000 nationwide are still without electricity, this Saturday evening at 6 p.m. “90% of customers affected in the region have been restored. The objective is to restore all customers by Sunday evening”specifies the electricity network manager Enedis.

A return to normal Sunday evening

The situation is gradually improving in Pays de la Loire. 460 Enedis agents have been deployed there since the passage of storm Caétano on Thursday. Interventions to replace the cut electrical wires with new, more resistant ones take several hours. We remind you, 13,000 homes were still without electricity in Loire-Atlantique and Vendée this Saturday morning. Repairs will continue this Sunday for a return to normal for everyone this Sunday evening.
