No less than 400 organizations fighting against violence against women – Women's Foundation, Family Planning, #Noustoutes, etc. – call for mobilization in several cities in France. They are meeting this Saturday with demonstrators in the streets of Paris, Marseille and Bordeaux. A mobilization supported by several personalities such as Angèle, Judith Godrèche and Vanessa Springora.
The objective of this day of mobilization is to denounce the lack of resources made available by the government to fight against violence against women. An event which resonates all the more at a time when Gisèle Pélicot has become the symbol of the fight against sexual violence against women. “Patriarchal violence occurs everywhere, in homes, in workplaces, places of study, in the street, in transport, in healthcare establishments, absolutely everywhere in society”continued Amandine Cormier. Alongside the organizations signing the call for mobilization, Marylise Léon and Sophie Binet, the general secretaries of the CGT and CFDT unions, are expected in the streets of the capital. Together, the demonstrators are calling for a “real leap” in the treatment of cases of violence against women.

“Successive governments have made many promises but the means are paltry and decreasing, political action is almost non-existent”deplore the signatories in a common voice. An observation that balances with Emmanuel Macron's speech when he arrived at the Elysée in 2017, declaring that he wanted to make gender equality a “great cause of the five-year term”. Salima Saa, the Secretary of State for Gender Equality, must announce, this Monday, November 25, 2024, “concrete and effective measures” on the subject.
