The man, aged around forty, who broke into the Proxi Super store in Chadrac on Friday November 15, was arrested by the Puy-en-Velay police on Thursday November 22. He was able to be identified thanks to video surveillance as well as the testimonies of people who witnessed the scene. A cart found by the police was able to allow them to trace the trail back to him. Placed in police custody the same day, he was presented to the public prosecutor. The forty-year-old was subsequently placed in pre-trial detention. He will be tried on Monday November 25 in immediate appearance before the magistrates of the Puy-en-Velay criminal court.
Put on the run by a heroic manager
As a reminder, the 43-year-old individual, well known to the police for his addiction to narcotics, stole the cash register of the business held by Éliane Vignal last Friday around 7 p.m. Although threatened by the forty-year-old and his weapon, the latter did not give in and managed to put him to flight. The perpetrator had dropped a few bills in his path and had left his machete, about thirty centimeters long, not far from a gutter.
