Cyberattacks: when humans are the weak link
With U-Cyber 360°, the French company Mailinblack allows you to protect your organization and educate your employees in cybersecurity.
From the password manager to email security, continuing training and attack simulations, this solution brings together all the tools to prevent cyber risks.
However, a data leak was noted, without having more details on the nature of this information. The department assures that it is limited. A crisis unit was immediately set up to assess the extent of the damage and restore the networks as quickly as possible. A complaint was filed with the authorities, while the National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CNIL) was duly informed of the situation.
On a site hosted on the darknet, the hackers simply posted an image of the Réunion department. No allegedly stolen information has been disclosed.
Several victims of cyberattacks claimed
Other departments in France such as Loiret or Alpes-Maritimes have already been affected by cyberattacks. Termite is a ransomware group still unknown to the battalion. Hackers also claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on water treatment company Culligan.
The procedure seems classic. Hackers infiltrate the computer network, then exfiltrate data before demanding a ransom. Remember that the rule in the French administration is to never pay the amount demanded by hackers.
