How will the roads be in the Ubaye valley for the arrival of skiers?

The winding road that leads to the Sainte-Anne La Condamine resort has already changed since last winter.

This is evidenced by the photographs taken after the bad weather in December 2023, which revealed a road gutted by rain on two portions. The security work has progressed well since then, and the road will be “not completely finished but passable” for the opening of the station, scheduled for December 13.

“I'm not saying completely finished because we will probably be forced to dig into the embankment and that will require some additional safety work, specifies the president of the Departmental Council, Éliane Barreille. The objective is that the road is accessible and passable for the opening of the station.”

The Col d’Allos open for July

Another good news for the inhabitants of Ubaye concerns the RD900, which links Digne-les-Bains to Larche via Barcelonnette. At Les Thuiles, the repair work is completed and everything is moving in both directions. “Around 2.5 million works were carried out on the D29“, specifies the president of the Departmental Council.

The third point is that of access to the Col d’Allosadds Éliane Barreille, who seems to have mastered this cumbersome file at his fingertips. There is already work in progress and everything will be finished for the opening of the pass in July 2025.”

The closure of the Col d'Allos following bad weather last winter severely penalized the traders of La Foux d'Allos this summer, leading to a drop in attendance (our edition of August 26, 2024). They therefore hope to see it reopen for the summer season. “As soon as the snow has melted, we resume” assures Éliane Barreille. Total budget for this work: six million euros.
