The Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region (PACA) announced that it was opening an investigation into the resources made available to the National Rally. Regional premises would have been used for the activities of RN deputy Franck Allisio.
A new affair for the National Rally. The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region announced on Friday that it would launch an investigation into the resources made available to the National Rally after an article from the investigative site Marsactu reporting the use of regional premises for the activities of the deputy of far right Franck Allisio.
“On November 21, 2024, the Marsactu information site published a video in which we can see that the premises of the Regional Council, made available to the National Rally group, are used for the preparation of mailings whose subject falls under the functions of deputy of Franck Allisio”, also elected to the Regional Council, indicated the region in a press release.
Franck Allisio “serene”
“These facts raise the question of the legality of the use of these means,” she continues, specifying that the president of the region, Renaud Muselier (Renaissance), “decided to trigger an internal investigation entrusted to the general inspection of services to ensure the proper use of the resources made available to the National Rally group”, in opposition to the Regional Council.
As a precautionary measure, all means dedicated to sending letters by political groups in the region are suspended, she also indicated. Depending on the results of the internal investigation, the region will “inform the competent judicial authorities”.
Marsactu posted a video online showing that “the group's meeting room in the region very clearly serves as a rear base for the RN deputy” with “envelopes bearing the “National Assembly” logo and address stickers”.
Questioned by AFP, Franck Allisio said he was “absolutely calm”: “There is nothing illegal at all, I had invitation cards from Franck Allisio in my office.” On the other hand, he called for an investigation into the video obtained by Marsactu.
As a reminder, less than two weeks ago the trial of the RN parliamentary assistants was held during which a sentence of ineligibility was requested against all the defendants, including Marine Le Pen.
