In Vaucluse, the large annual collection of Food Banks begins this Friday and will continue until Sunday evening, reports France Bleu Vaucluse. More than 800 volunteers will stand at the entrance to 65 large areas to recover froms foodstuffs and hygiene products.
Alarming figures
In 2024, the department has 55,000 beneficiaries of food aid, compared to 26,000 beneficiaries in 2021, i.e. increase of more than 100% in three years.
The collection represents approximately 9% of food redistributed throughout the year. Every donation counts to meet growing needs.

In 2023, this collection had made it possible to collect nearly 100 tonnes of fooda major contribution to supporting families and isolated people in difficulty.
Needs include: conserves (meat, fish, vegetables), pastaof rizof the puréeof the children's products (diapers, small pots), as well as hygiene products (soaps, toothpaste).
