The Isa socio-cultural center is located in the heart of the old town, one of the city’s priority districts (QPV) along with Val des Rougières.

“Everyone is welcome. It is open to all segments of the population, regardless of their income,” insists Atif Moufakka, director of La Maison des familles, federated within the network of the Union diaconale du Var (UDV), owner of the site.

The one who has made this mix of audiences his own, has continued, over the years, to strengthen his links with the various players in associative and local life. Proof of this are the memberships of local interest committees such as Paul-Long or the Collines du Paradis to name but a few and the fifty or so partners.

The team, led by Atif Moufakka, and chaired by Gilles Rebèche, deacon, solidarity delegate of the diocese of Fréjus – Toulon, was able to surround itself with seventy-two volunteers, “the strength of the social center”, insists his director. They bring with the team, through their knowledge and their interpersonal skills, all the richness and diversity in their actions alongside partners including the city (read elsewhere).

Mixity and diversity

By organizing, on September 21 (1), Place Clemenceau, the first festival of talents and families with the help of partners (city and associative network), the socio-cultural center which has just renewed its approval from the Family Allowance Fund (read elsewhere) for the next three years, intends to highlight this mix and its diversity which makes the richness of the action carried out throughout the year with all the inhabitants.

“Following the diagnosis of the social project and the first feedback from the activities during the Hors les murs event last April, I wanted to set up this festival by bringing together the city’s associations and residents, explains Atif Moufakka. It’s about highlighting the artistic and manual talents of residents.”

Considering the talents who expressed themselves during the recent casting, this edition promises great highlights for the start of the school year, like the talent festival recently organized by the UDV.

1. The program remains to be finalized. A parade is already planned in the heart of the city with the Ratafia company, an inflatable structure, around ten stands (canning, land art, floral art workshop, makeup, percussion, stained glass, etc.).
