Return of free shuttles to Joliette for the Lanaudière Festival!

Tourisme MRC de Joliette is proud to announce the return of the FREE shuttle service connecting downtown Joliette to the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre during all concerts presented at the Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre as part of the Festival de Lanaudière.

The shuttles will run continuously for a period of 2 hours before and after the concerts. Passages will take place every 30 minutes and will take the following route:

• Hôtel Château Joliette, 450 rue St-Thomas

• Bus stop in front of Joliette Cathedral, 2 rue St-Charles-Borromée Nord

• Bus exchange center in front of the Palais de Justice, 200 rue St-Marc

• Bus stop in front of the Rina-Lasnier Library, 57 Rue St Pierre Sud

• Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay

100% electric vehicles
The transport division of the MRC de Joliette, in collaboration with the Gaudreault Group, will ensure that 100% electric school vehicles are put into service; this type of vehicle offers more seats for festival-goers. This initiative therefore allows us to make a small gesture for the environment while saving parking!

By reducing the number of vehicles on Base-de-Roc Boulevard, the service contributes to the tranquility of the neighbourhood, the experience of festival-goers and, above all, a direct reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the event. In addition, the designated stops encourage the use of urban and interurban public transportation already offered by the MRC de Joliette.

An enhanced experience for festival-goers
Visitors and residents will be able to enjoy the activities, shops and restaurants of downtown Joliette longer before heading peacefully towards the Amphitheater. Several parking areas in the city center such as the one at Louis-Querbes Park will be available to them. There are more than 2,000 free parking spaces during concert hours that can be used by festival-goers.

“The Lanaudière Festival attracts tens of thousands of festival-goers to the region every year. With this new free shuttle service, they will be able to discover the wealth of shops and restaurants in Joliette during their visit, with a view to sustainable mobility. Everyone wins! » – Xavier Roy, general director of the Festival de Lanaudière

The project is a joint initiative of the Festival de Lanaudière, the Société de développement du center-ville de Joliette, the MRC de Joliette and Tourisme MRC Joliette. Its achievement is possible thanks to the Government of Quebec within the framework of the Regional Partnership and Digital Transformation Agreement in Tourism (EPRTNT) and the valuable collaboration of the office of François St-Louis, Member of Parliament for Joliette in the National Assembly of Quebec , the Château Joliette hotel and Tourisme Lanaudière.
