Thursday 21 – 11:45 a.m.
Due to the worsening of its initial forecasts, Météo-France raised today, and at least until this Friday 6 a.m., the level of vigilance for Seine-Maritime to Orange “snow-ice” vigilance, due to risk of freezing rain and snow. This deterioration in weather conditions led the prefect to take several traffic restriction measures.
Thus, collective transport of children and school buses and interurban collective transport are prohibited from 6 p.m. this evening. They will also be tomorrow morning, due to an episode of frost that the department will experience tonight.
In coordination with the National Education and Normandy region services responsible for this transport, the organization of early returns of students is underway. Communication from the establishments will soon be made directly to families.
From now on, and until further notice, overtaking heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes is prohibited on the entire road network and their maximum authorized speed is lowered by 20 km/h.
In addition, heavy goods vehicle storage areas will be opened on the edge of the Somme department. On the A28 in the Abbeville/Rouen direction, these are the Vallée de Bresle and Maucomble areas and on the A29, the Haudricourt-lllois-Ronchois area in the Amiens/Le Havre direction,
The prefect of Seine-Maritime calls on motorists to be extremely vigilant and recommends that they adapt their driving to local weather conditions and, as far as possible, limit their travel.
Read the decree relating to the exceptional regulation of the circulation of collective transport for children, school buses and interurban collective transport.
