An operation impressive

Several police forces are involved in such operations, recalls Pierre-Yves Borduas, former deputy commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). But the entire legal process must be managed by the justice ministries of each country. When you involve lawyers in such a complicated process, things tend to move much more slowlyexplains the consultant.

The process is still quite complex. In this context, the very short period of about four months is relatively impressive.

A quote from Pierre-Yves Borduas, retired RCMP deputy commissioner

Regarding repatriation to Canadian soil, there are protocols established to ensure that the police go to Portuguese soil to take possession of the individual. Is this a charter plane or a commercial flight? The charter plane may be in a situation where we are talking about a mafia kingpin. There is a whole risk analysis that is done. We determine the level of threat and the method to repatriate the individualexplains Pierre-Yves Borduas.
