Since the start of the school year, rigorous checks have been organized in school transport in Tarn-et-Garonne, according to information reported by L'Opinion.
These operations, led by the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR), were put in place to strengthen student safety and check the conformity of the vehicles used. Initiated in September, they are part of a preventive approach aimed at avoiding any incidents linked to school journeys.
Thorough and regular inspections
The gendarmes check numerous technical points, such as the presence of mandatory safety equipment (fire extinguishers, icebreakers, signage), as well as the general condition of the buses. Drivers are also checked to validate their ability to drive in optimal conditions.
Since the launch of this initiative, around twenty operations have been carried out on different routes throughout the department. These checks, which will continue throughout the school year, gradually cover all circuits to guarantee the safety of children and reduce potential risks linked to transport. The initiative, although intensive, remains above all preventive.
