a 2-month project will begin at the Grand-Croix

As part of the project to improve mobility between Lyon and Saint-Étienne, a major project begins this Tuesday. Until August 29, the Centre-East DIR will review interchange 13, that of La Grand-Croix. In the Saint-Étienne / Lyon direction, the exit ramp will be widened, from the A47, to the junction with the RM106, to become 2 lanes. A roundabout will also see the light of day.

On the other hand, the project will make it possible to anticipate another phase of work with the creation of new ramps, which will be completed by 2025.”The aim of this operation is to improve user safety and to smooth traffic flow on the A47 by making it easier for vehicles to exit and enter the metropolitan road network.“, explains the DIR in a press release.

For users, there are consequences, with the closure of the motorway entry and exit ramps at the level of the Grand-Croix, in the Loire / Rhône direction.Users wishing to take the A47, towards Lyon, will have to follow the metropolitan road network RM88, towards Lorette, then the RM65 towards Genilac/Chagnon, in order to join the A47 at Sardon (interchange 12)“.
