The Casablanca Stock Exchange looked gloomy at the close on Thursday, the MASI having fallen by 0.28% to 13,318.19 points (pts).

The MASI.20 fell by 0.4%, to 1,076.52 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, lost ground to by 0.58% to 969.81 pts.

For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, the thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, lost 0.56% to 1,209.77 pts.

On the international side, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid respectively dropped 0.41% to 12,355.61 pts, and 0.57% to 11,093.83 pts. On a sectoral level, the distributors index recorded the largest increase (+3.77%), ahead of the electricity index (+2.65%), and that of leisure and hotels (+1, 53%).

On the other hand, the pharmaceutical index showed the biggest decline (-2.17%), followed by the telecommunications index (-1.4%), and the banking index (-0.78%).

The overall volume of trade stood at 95.5 million dirhams (MDH) carried out on the Central market (Shares). This volume was dominated by transactions involving BCP (30.44 MDH), Douja Prom Addoha (9.01 MDH) and Mutandis Sca (8.25 MDH).

As for market capitalization, it exceeded 693.71 billion dirhams (MMDH).

On the value front, the biggest declines were recorded by S. M Monétique (-5.08% to 168 dirhams (DH)), Bmci (-4.31% to 610 DH), Afric Industries Sa (-3 .82% at 320 DH), Sothema (-2.46% at 951 DH) and Auto Hall (-2.28% at 73 DH).

On the other hand, Label Vie (+4.76% to 4,400 DH), Eqdom (+3.07% to 1,175 DH), Taqa Morocco (+2.65% to 1,355 DH), Sonasid (+2.41% at 850 DH) and Stroc Industrie (+1.8% at 34 DH) recorded the best performances.
