On July 5, the town of Rillieux La Pape will host the first edition of “Summer Lights On” (known as SLO), an event created by young Rilliards. The goal ? Design a space for sharing, debate and good humor. A look back at an initiative that puts a smile on your face!
An ambitious project based on living together
Originally: a group of young people from the village who carry out projects centered on commitment. After a year of actions around intergenerational links, art or ecology, the group wants to go further. They draw the following observation: music brings together, we must therefore create a musical event! The idea of SLO was born and throughout the year, the collective organizes itself to put on a rich festival that will please as many people as possible.
A festival with diverse facets
SLO is not just music: the program also includes an open stage on which young people will perform comedy sketches or musical performances. Commitment remains at the heart of the collective’s action, the event will therefore also include workshops, debates and discussions around association stands. Foodies will be satisfied with the different food trucks which offer traditional street food, vegan or Mediterranean offerings. For hop lovers, there will even be a stall from a Lyon brewery!
What are we listening to?
The evening will be punctuated by 3 local artists : Holy Grail for danceable underground pop rock; Cyrious and his hybrid style between rap, song and acoustic instrumentalization; Jey Khemal who defends poetic texts on a neo soul line tinged with blues with English-speaking influences. Finally, a collective of DJs will come and get the crowd dancing to end the evening in style.
