The events occurred on Monday November 18 in the Montesoro district of Bastia.
Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., a 77-year-old woman was allegedly attacked as she returned to her home located in a building. It was at that time that her handbag was allegedly stolen by a person who then fled.
Slightly injured, the septuagenarian was treated in the emergency room of Falconaja hospital.
“After this lady filed a complaint, an investigation was opened for “violent theft””indicated this Tuesday evening the public prosecutor of Bastia, Jean-Philippe Navarre, confirming information from Corse Matin.
The investigations were entrusted to the interdepartmental direction of the national police (DIPN) of Haute-Corse.
