Since August, the Charleville-Mézières and Sedan (TAC) transport network has been the victim of identity theft on Facebook. It is in fact on this social network that hackers operate with the aim of scamming individuals.

In mid-November, the criminals struck again. According to The Ardennesafter creating a completely credible Facebook page, bearing the name “Carte de transport de Charleville-Mézières”, the repeat offenders proposed a competition.

The transport network alerts Internet users

A publication offered to win a six-month subscription to the Ardennes bus network. The uploaded photograph as well as the map presented seemed completely real. However, the link that the Internet user had to follow was a little more suspicious. The latter in fact referred to “built-unjourmontreal.com”, nothing very reassuring.

Alerted by users and certain Ardennes residents, the transport network published a press release on November 12: “A Facebook page is trying to pass itself off as our network by using our name and photos. » Great caution is therefore required.
