From Haute- to Norway by bike at 18, she exhibits her memories of this extraordinary project

Between last April and July, Mattis Légé cycled 6,700 km, heading to the northern tip of the European continent. She exhibits her photos and travel memories on rue Chèvrerie.

On April 15, Mattis Légé got on her bike from her home in Queyrières, heading towards the North Cape in Norway. After two months of travel and 6,700 km traveled, the 18-year-old Altiligerian returned to her village with a head full of memories and numerous photos taken on film.

, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway… The young woman of almost 19 years old did not hesitate to accomplish this extraordinary project. “I came up with the idea on a whim while walking in the forest. I talked to my parents about it, they immediately supported me and I never hesitated to get started,” recalls the artist. Passionate about photography, Mattis Légé was able to benefit from an Alti Pop' scholarship before leaving. She was able to afford all the film equipment she wanted. Remarkable encounters and landscapes, the young photographer was able to capture “all the moments that came to hand”. She is exhibiting a selection of her photos until January 8 at the Atelier du 8, rue Chèvrerie, in Puy-en-Velay. “The selection was quite easy to make, I chose the photos that I liked the most. » Many people had followed his adventure. And, with this exhibition, Mattis Légé wishes to create interaction. “I learned a lot during these two months. I also want to show that it's easy to leave. Whether you are young, whether you are a woman, I want to show that it can work for everyone,” concludes the artist. Next May, the native of Queyrières will begin training as a shepherdess in Haute-Savoie. In the meantime, she is thinking about writing a book.
