For about a week, passers-by have been able to see new decorations at rue Taison in Metz. Set up by the Neighborhood Merchants Association, they will remain present until September to brighten up this street.

“The objective is to bring people back, to bring tourists and to continue to talk about rue Taison. We said to ourselves that we had to find decors that people would like, so we put in place this colored ceiling” explains Claire AZGAR, president of the Association of traders on rue Taison.

The colorful ceiling and the Graoully of rue Taison, recently restored.

Lthe operation achieved consensus among local traders who are always looking for innovation to put the street forward. “We are all new generation traders. We want to be united, help each other and do things together. I think it’s much more promising” explains Claire AZGAR.

It took almost 6 months to go from design to production of the colored ceiling by a company. Obtaining the necessary authorizations from the city requires a lot of work on this historic street, but the Association, which has been carrying out projects for several years, is now used to these procedures.

We also want to redo the colored paving stones within a fortnight. We were waiting for the operation to improve. We will soon release it on the networks. People in the neighborhood love this moment. We will try to have a little friendly aperitif at the same time and volunteers can even come and help us paint.

The operation benefits from a financial support from the Federation of Traders from Metz. Under the decorations, new vegetated containers have also just been installed. More information on the revegetation of rue Taison by clicking here.
