On Saturday, the Tour de France will start from Italy. The Objat-based company 2M0 has been equipping France Télévisions with “plateau” trucks for twenty-five years. Four leave Corrèze this Tuesday.

On Monday, a visit to the trucks was organized at the Renault Trucks garage in Brive before the big departure for Rimini this Tuesday morning.

These four trucks (three semi-trailers and a carrier) are expected Wednesday evening in Italy, before the arrival of the first stage of the Tour de France on Saturday. They are leaving for a month of tour.

Once arrived in the technical zone, the vehicles will be taken care of by around a hundred people from France Télévisions, the official broadcaster of the event, who will work on these four trucks.

For the four drivers from Corrèze, it is the start of a marathon which will last three weeks, with more than 6,000 kilometers of road to cover.

The four Corrèze drivers left this Tuesday morning for Italy.

For them, each day is rhythmic and timed. The latter thus ride at night, once the day’s Tour stage has finished, arriving around 2 a.m. at the place of the next finish. A short night’s sleep later and the drivers prepare their respective trucks.

A collaboration that has already lasted for 25 years

Two of them will accommodate France Télévisions journalists with a commentator’s cabin and a roof terrace for the post-stage broadcast. Another is dedicated to dressing rooms and a final one allows equipment to be stored, including 40 kilometers of cables.

This collaboration between the Tour de France, broadcast in more than 190 countries around the world, and the Objatoise company 2MO founded by Max Mamers has already been going on for twenty-five years.
