Chartres-de-Bretagne. The Digui Soli fair canceled because of the elections

The Djigui Soli association had to cancel its fair planned for Saturday June 29 at the Halle de la Conterie where the commune’s polling stations are located. Its members had put together a program starting at 3 p.m. with games, world crafts and a small meal as well as the presence of a Tuareg group from Mali for a show followed by an evening concert and a DJ set.

The whole team was very disappointed to have to cancel the event after six months of work to create outdoor games and furniture and especially so close to the date. , reports Patricia Agnola, co-president. The association will not have big financial losses because all the purchases have not yet been made, apart from the flyers and the garnished baskets. “All the service providers were very accommodating. The two musical groups were understanding and the merchants agreed to cancel the orders,” specifies Patricia Agnola.

The profits from this fair were intended for a project in Fatoma in the Mopti region (Mali) for the benefit of 80 women in precarious situations. After financing a well and a vegetable garden, it was planned to purchase a machine to make soap, training in its use and management at a cost of €7,700. We are going to postpone this project. The next fair has been set for June 14, 2025 in an identical format.
