In 2023, 500 old vehicles and 100 modern vehicles took part in the blessing of travelers and their vehicles in Tourcoing, for the Saint-Christophe pilgrimage. This year, the big meeting will take place Wednesday June 26, 2024.

With the Archbishop of Lille

The mass will take place at the Saint-Christophe church at 6:30 p.m., in the presence of the Archbishop of Lille, Mgr Laurent Le Boulc’h, and Father Dalle, parish priest. The blessing will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the foot of the church.

The Archbishop of Lille will bless the travelers, with the other priests of the Saint-Christophe church, from the podium installed near the church.

For vintage cars: arrival between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.; access to the various car parks via Avenue de la Fraternité (between Ibis hotel and Auchan). Parking: Place de la République / Place de la Résistance / Grand’Place. From 7 p.m., collectors join the car parade. The procession for the blessing will start at 7:30 p.m.

Wheelbarrows too

The famous wheelbarrows, emblems of the town of Tourcoing, will open the parade.

with city representatives, the traders will follow. Then it will be:

  • the traditional pilgrims who will leave from Place Victor Hassebroucq (opposite the town hall),
  • motorcycles, from the parking lot on the side of the church,
  • classic and prestige cars, from the Grand Place, Place de la Résistance, Place de la République (Parvis) car parks.

All travelers are expected: hikers, strollers, cyclists, campers, bikers, etc.

The event is organized by the association of Friends of Tourcoing and the carillon.
