The immediate intervention of a nurse and a volunteer firefighter, present during this gathering, was essential. They began the first resuscitation actions, while a club manager from the Côte Landes Rugby Association (ACLR) alerted emergency services. The presence of a defibrillator on this sports installation was also beneficial in the course of operations.

For more than an hour, the emergency services – notably the Linxe firefighters and a team from Smur – combined their efforts to revive the young winger, dismissed from the ACLR. Stabilized, he was evacuated by helicopter to hospital where he was cared for by medical teams.

Additional examinations

The young Landais underwent a first battery of examinations. This Sunday evening, the news evokes “a positive development”. Contacted by us, a manager of the ACLR club was able to “exact with the player’s parents”. He will undergo additional examinations during the day of Monday, November 18. Depending on the results, doctors at the teen's bedside could decide to wake him up.
