No major incident was reported by the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA).

Senegalese voters, both at home and abroad, are participating in the early legislative elections in a peaceful and organized manner.

At midday, the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA) welcomed, in a press release received at APA, an overall satisfactory progress.

Since the opening of 15,633 polling stations on national territory and 807 polling stations abroad at 8 a.m. this morning, many Senegalese citizens have been fulfilling their civic duty, says CENA.

The latter, thanks to its network of controllers present in all voting centers, ensures rigorous monitoring of this election day.

According to the poll supervision platform, based on a sample of 553 witness stations, the first results demonstrate good organization: “93.2% of stations opened on time, 99.1% of electoral materials are available and complete, 98.76% of voting operations took place normally and 95.66% of offices benefit from the presence of security agents,” informs the CENA.

At this stage, no major problems have been reported to CENA. However, the institution says it remains on alert to guarantee the smooth running of the electoral process.

The voting operation will continue until 6 p.m., pending the first provisional results.
