A crowd of visitors for the reopening of the halls

#BEZIERS – To the sound of the banda Mescladis, a joyful crowd vibrated the bays of the Béziers halls this Saturday, D + 1 before the reopening. Coming from Béziers or elsewhere, customers, eager to discover the new food offering from Biltoki, the new manager, filled the aisles of this emblematic covered market in the city center. The mayor simulates tearing up the rails

#HEARING – He took control of the excavator himself! As announced several weeks ago, the various right-wing mayor of Quillan, Pierre Castel, carried out a punch operation this Saturday aimed at recalling his opposition to the reopening of the Quillan-Limoux railway line. The chief magistrate no longer believes that trains will run on this link which has been closed for several years. He prefers to see a greenway built instead. A project that is not unanimous since there are still many associations, elected officials and citizens who want trains to run on this axis again. Still, despite opposition to his action, Pierre Castel brought together more than a hundred people at Quillan station to “demonstrate that there are many supporters for a greenway when it takes 100 million euros to rebuild the railway line”. So he simulated tearing up the rails with an excavator and then painted them green and with rust inhibitor.

Aid of 70,000 euros for the church

#LOZÈRE – Five religious buildings in Occitania will benefit from a special fund from the Heritage Foundation to save them from predicted ruin. This is the case of the Saint-Martin church, in Chaudeyrac, in Margeride, dating from the 11th century, which will benefit from aid from the foundation of 70,000 euros out of a total cost of work of at least 200,000 euros. The work will initially consist of repairing the slate roof. These 70,000 euros will also make it possible to launch the restoration of the chapel. In support of the religious heritage of the villages, the foundation announced that it had mobilized €16.70 million, of which €6.60 million will be redirected to 100 “little Notre-Dame” villages and small towns.
