Sandiara, June 24 (APS) – The new mayor of Sandiara (Mbour, West) Aliou Gningue, declares that he wants to work as a priority in favor of universal access for his citizens to basic social services, such as water, electricity , sanitation, education and health.

“We want to ensure universal access to extremely important services such as water, electricity, sanitation, the right to education but also health,” said Aliou Gningue on Sunday during a day of cleaning of the town of Sandiara.

“We just want to really start with what we have as a program at Sandiara, which is cleanliness,” he added.

“Another problem that we are going to tackle,” continued Mr. Gningue, “concerns the complaints of the population regarding the factories” located in the area.

Aliou Gningue announces the establishment of a control and monitoring committee. This structure will be led by the sub-prefect, with the support of the various technical services of the State, the town hall and the Sandiara community.

The new councilor who replaces the Minister of Industry and Commerce Serigne Guéye Diop, at the head of this community in the department of Mbour, intends, in addition to this, to set up a zone committee.

This body, where the factories and the driving forces of Sandiara will be represented, will serve as a “framework for exchange, sharing so that all problems can be discussed and people can understand what the factories are doing and find solutions, “local scale,” insisted Aliou Gningue.
