2024 legislative elections in South Aveyron: “A unique opportunity to put the right back in power” for P.-A. Fèvre, far-right candidate

Parachuted by the far-right RN-LR alliance, Pierre-Antoine Fèvre is a candidate for the third constituency even though his current life is in Switzerland. Formerly close to Reconquest, he will be present three days to campaign before Sunday’s vote.

Why did you get involved in this campaign?

I fell into it as a child. I ran François Fillon’s campaign and when President Ciotti called me to tell me about a unique opportunity to put the right back in power with an alliance with the National Rally, I did not hesitate at all. My label is LR and we have differences with the RN. The stakes are huge, we could have a Prime Minister from Nupes (New Popular Front, Editor’s note) with rising insecurity. Opposite we have a president who does not manage France like a good father. When he told me “you have to go”, I immediately made my decision.

Will your life in Switzerland not be a hindrance to your activity?

No, I plan to spend some time in the riding. My job is quite flexible. The idea is to spend time in Aveyron, to speak with actors, employers’ unions, farmers, hunters and elected officials. Then while in Paris, act on certain levers. I will spend my time between Aveyron and Paris.

What are you going to offer to South Aveyron residents who don’t know you?

We will work on purchasing power and security. I will vote with the majority on these points. We have a program on agriculture and rurality for Aveyron. We want it to be very clear and very concrete immediately, within three years. Tomorrow people need to see a difference. There are two axes on agriculture. The normative and for that we have a main principle, two standards created, one deleted. The second axis is taxation. We want to reduce employer contributions with targeted subsidies. I would like us to tax products that we import and have at home, such as Irish or Australian lamb.

Health seems absent from your program which is nevertheless an important theme in South Aveyron…

I’m going to be careful about this. I’m not promising anything, other than looking at the file. I understand that the location that was chosen (for the common hospital, Editor’s note) is not ideal. I don’t know where the file is. The idea is to be very concrete, to speak with all the local mayors and to see what can or cannot be changed. I understand that there was a simpler place, at the end of the Viaduct.

Besides the hospital, medicine in general is in crisis…

It will be national. First there is an emergency plan with different levels: first purchasing power and security. Then we move on to health, etc. We will do it in the order of priorities if we have an absolute majority.

Health is an emergency that dates back to yesterday, don’t you think that it is far down in the order of priorities?

Yes, but there is more and more poverty in France, on immigration, you have 500,000 people entering France each year and there are 130 knife attacks… When people manage to eat and survive, we move on to the rest and we will take care of them.
