Christine Engrand breaks the silence. The national rally deputy for Pas de Calais had not spoken to the media for two months, even if she continued to post on her social networks. This Saturday, she addressed journalists in a press release sent to the press.
“Convict without court”
The MP denounces journalistic relentlessness towards her, in order to create “buzz”. She accuses journalists of “condemn without court” and of “assume a right to the truth”. The elected RN refers to the multiple accusations concerning her, in particular on the use of her mandate fees for personal purposes. According to a survey by the Médiapart information site, the elected official used this money to subscribe to a dating site, to pay for the boarding of her dogs, or even to change her car tires.
Christine Engrand compares what she experiences to a “bullfight” where “the bullfighter doesn't give the bull a chance”. “Be careful, ladies and gentlemen journalists. There are bulls who have tough skin, who survive the fight and who prove their integrity”she wrote at the end of the press release.
