PHOTOS – In the Tarn, the paradise of machines: a poetic museum reinvents old machines

“We owe so much to machines. They are everywhere in our lives. Thanks to them and energy, we can do anything. Thanks to them, man became Superman.” These are the words of Gabriel Lemaire Sicre, a artist based in Graulhet since 2014. When he arrived in the Tarn town marked by decades of leather working, he was fascinated by the machines that were everywhere. He bought hundreds of them, which he customized, painted and decorated.

Breilhac factory

Almost 10 years of work for the creation of a museum which finally opens in the three floors of the former premises of the Breilhac factory, where just a few years ago, 150 seamstresses made leather clothes. In the Paradise of Machines, the name of the museum, these machines can “to live a new life outside of oblivion and enlighten the living by being a source of inspiration for them.”
