Fabien Lechevalier, development agent on site, explains: “We just did a collection at Ikea on Saturday June 15th. As part of their CSR sustainable development actions, we are part of the partner structures. With a group of volunteers, we were present all Saturday. Ikea customers were invited to bring back their crockery in exchange for vouchers. We recovered some dishes in very good condition. » This week, the Habitat Boutique focused on sorting recovered objects. Katia, an intern, and Sylvia, a volunteer, sorted 1,700 items of tableware. Katia says: “There are a lot of them, since last Monday we have been sorting the plates, the bowls, the glasses, the salad bowls, which fill an entire room here! “.

Activities and surprises for visitors

In parallel with the summer sale, various activities will be offered, to enrich the welcome and promote conviviality. An actor will be present and will offer street theater shows, and a food truck will serve crepes. “We offer a crepe to each customer,” explains Fabien Lechevalier. A raffle will allow you to win a brand new large Ikea bed with drawer. The Boutique Habitat, supported by social landlords, the CAF and the Hérouville town hall, is dedicated to improving housing. Managed by a team of seven people and around thirty volunteers, it pursues three lines of action: recovery and collection of furniture, wood DIY and makeover workshops, and a permanent low-cost flea market.
