On the occasion of the 2024 summer holidays, the La Cour d’Or museum of the Metz Eurometropolis offers 8 creative, artistic and fun workshops aimed at children aged 4 to 12.

Admission is free, but there is a fee for the workshops.

THE registrations are officially open and must be carried out at the museum reception, during opening hours. Workshops are by reservation only, subject to availability.

The program

Workshop Make your colors vibrate : Wednesday 10, Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
What if the colors didn’t mix? What if they played and vibrated for the greatest pleasure of the eyes? Participants will explore paintings from the 17th to the 20th century and leave with their colorful and lively painting. (Aimed at 4-7 year olds)

Ceramic Workshop : Wednesday 10, Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Discover the collections of Gallo-Roman and medieval ceramics kept at the Museum and get hands-on to make your own clay object. (Aimed at 7-12 year olds)

Workshop From 7 to 77 years old
: Monday 22, Thursday 25 and Friday 26 July from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Through a visit combining painted and sculpted works, participants will discover the different ages of life and their representation. They will then create a memory on this theme to play at home… with all generations! (Aimed at 7-12 year olds)

Archi’lumineux workshop : Thursday 8, Friday 9, Monday 12 and Wednesday 14 August from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Discover the art of stained glass through a fun visit then make your own stained glass window in vibrant colors! (Aimed at 4-6 year olds)

Parent-child workshop Tote Bag : Thursday August 8 and Friday August 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Discover the bestiary ceilings painted in the 13th century and take inspiration from strange animals to personalize your tote bag with four hands. (Aimed at 8-12 year olds accompanied by a parent)

Workshop Nocturnal animals are cool! : Monday August 12 and Wednesday August 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Woo-hoo…, nocturnal animals hide among the museum’s works. Set out to discover some of these specimens, some of which have long been considered frightening! Then make your own owl and discover that these night owls are actually pretty cool! (Aimed at 4-6 year olds)

Recomposed Museum Workshop : Monday 12, Wednesday 14, Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This workshop offers children the opportunity to discover behind the scenes of a museum. Why choose to exhibit this object? How to highlight it? After theory, practice: participants will leave with their own little museum, recomposed as they wish! (Aimed at 7-10 year olds)

Atelier Polyprint : Wednesday 21, Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
After a fun visit, the museum’s motifs will no longer hold any secrets for the participants. They will invent and engrave their ornament inspired by works from the museum! (Aimed at 4-6 year olds)
