Guest of the show “The Bridge” on Youtube, Jules Koundé addressed the subject of his clothing style which is much talked about. The defender believes he has “liberated” himself over time and now knows he is being closely scrutinized.
Jules Koundé breaks the codes in his own way. In recent years, and particularly during his arrivals at Clairefontaine for France team gatherings, the defender has often presented himself with a daring clothing style. Last May, the FC Barcelona player, for example, arrived wearing heels.
Criticized with his teammates in October by Jérôme Rothen and Jean-Michel Larqué for this arrival at Clairefontaine which turned into a fashion show, Jules Koundé had promised this November to bring a tracksuit. The former Bordeaux player kept his promise last Monday.
During an episode of the show “The Bridge” on Youtube with Aurélien Tchouaméni and Ousmane Dembélé in particular, Jules Koundé returned to this sartorial subject: “People argue and like to talk about it”, judged the 26 year old man. “I know now that people are looking forward to it, to know how I'm going to arrive, in what style, if I'm going to be eccentric or not.”
“Before, I didn’t like it at all”
“Everyone comes as they feel. For me it’s just a lack of open-mindedness,” also tackled Jules Koundé, responding to criticism. “From time to time, it's good to respond to make your point of view heard (…) I dress because it's me in fact, it's part of my life. I like it! “
However, Jules Koundé was not always so comfortable dressing so freely. “Before, until four or five years ago, I honestly didn't like it at all. I really didn't like anything to do with photos, my mother can attest to that. As time went on, I freed myself a little,” confided the person concerned. “You get to know yourself better and you know what you like and what you don’t.”
