A chase between Dax customs officers and a car ended in an accident this Friday, November 15 on the dual carriageway (D 824) near the town of Mées (Landes).
He hits a camper van
According to our information, it was around 2:30 p.m. when the car chased by customs officers, a large German car, hit a camper van. Two men in their twenties, who were in the pursued vehicle, were arrested by customs officers.
The gendarmerie and the national police were also on the scene. The driver of the motorhome, a man in his sixties, was unhurt.
Traffic was in one lane until 3:30 p.m., when the road was cleared. We do not yet know the circumstances of this chase and what precisely the customs officers were looking for.
As a reminder, a few days ago, a chase also took place in the Landes. On the morning of Wednesday November 13, a man was arrested by the GIGN and the Guardia Civile in Tartas. He had been chased from Irun on the French border.
